T&G is graded from the smooth face for appearances, resawn back, v-joint on all four edges.
Bevel and Channel and graded from the resawn face.
Grade: WCLIB para 111-E and 111-F Select Knotty allowing 10/15% Quality Knotty
Characteristics and limiting provisions outlined in 111-e and 111-f are modified as follows:
Select Knotty( min of 85%) 1. medium seasoning checks ( 1/32” x 10”) 2. worm holes maximum 1/8” diameter. One worm trace per 12’ lineal feet 3. occasionally hit and miss very light skips on smooth face in 5% 4. light warp 5. short splits (width of piece) 6. eliminate black ring knots and loose/unsound knots 7. knot sizes: - 4” board- maximum of 1 ¼” anywhere on wide face - 6” board- maximum of 1 ½” anywhere on the wide face with edge knots ..maximum of 1” sound and tight - 8” board- maximum of 2 ¼” anywhere on the face Quality Knotty (max of 15%) 1. a 3” cut out on 8’ to 10’material, 2’ from either end or on 12 to 16’material 3’ from either end
